The Great InfoWars Rebrand: Satire as the New Reality

I was catching the news on ABC News Live recently—I believe it was an interview with Ben Collins, the CEO of The Onion—and that’s how this whole bizarre story first landed on my radar. Collins was laying out the details of their latest play: a $81,000-per-month lease to basically move into the InfoWars house and start rearranging the furniture.

It’s a fascinating, almost alchemical transformation. Collins is turning the "machinery of lies" into a comedy network. But the real "chef’s kiss" moment for me was finding out they’ve hired Tim Heidecker as the Creative Director. If you’ve ever seen Tim’s work, you know he’s the master of the "uncomfortable parody"—that hyper-specific brand of awkward, ego-driven performance that mirrors the very thing it’s mocking until you can’t tell where the joke ends and the reality begins.

The Physics of Parody

In my IT days, we used to talk about "sandboxing"—creating a safe environment where you can let a virus run just to see how it behaves without it crashing the whole system. That’s what this feels like. By putting Heidecker in charge of the InfoWars IP, they aren't just shutting Alex Jones down; they are sandboxing the entire conspiracy-industrial complex.

As a student of the Emerald Tablet, I can’t help but think of the principle: "As above, so below." If the "above" (the mainstream media) has become a chaotic reflection of our internal anxieties, then the "below" (this new, satirical InfoWars) might just be the mirror we need to see how ridiculous the whole show has become.

A New Sadhana?

Maybe there’s a bit of "Creative Sadhana" here. If we can learn to laugh at the structures that once caused so much division, we take away their power. Collins mentioned on ABC that the profits will finally start flowing to the Sandy Hook families—which feels like a long-overdue karmic rebalancing.

I’m curious to see if Heidecker’s version of the "news" will be any more surreal than the actual reports I've been watching. In a world where satire and reality are constantly swapping clothes, maybe the only way to find the truth is to hire a professional comedian to tell us the most honest lies possible.

Conservative David Brooks's Trump Critique Evolves

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the evolving landscape of political commentary, especially watching the familiar faces on the PBS NewsHour. If you’re like me and have been watching for years, you remember when the Friday night ritual was anchored by "Brooks and Shields." There was  […]

Convex Worlds, Concave Realities: The Geometry of Awareness

Convex Worlds, Concave Realities: The Geometry of Awareness There is a quiet elegance in the language of topology—an elegance that begins in mathematics but does not end there. It reaches, if we allow it, into the depths of our own awareness. Let me begin with a simple image. The Convex Perfection  […]

Booting a SystemRescue ISO (like 13.00 amd64) from /boot/iso/ on Debian 12/13

How do I boot system rescue disk 13.00 amd64 on debian 12 or 13 after putting the .iso in /boot/iso/? Booting a SystemRescue ISO (like 13.00 amd64) from /boot/iso/ on Debian 12/13 is typically done using GRUB loopback booting. Debian doesn’t automatically detect ISOs in /boot/iso, so you need to  […]

Embracing the Emerald Frequency

Gemini said   I have been reflecting deeply on the shift I’ve felt lately—that unmistakable sense that the internal and external worlds are beginning to align in ways I can no longer ignore. My recent fascination with the Emerald Tablets feels less like a new hobby and more like a  […]

The Strait Within: Energy, Conflict, and the Fragile Web of the World

It’s hard to ignore the headlines when they’re this stark. Seeing "War with Iran" splashed across the news cycle alongside reports of massive energy disruptions feels like a page out of a geopolitical thriller, but the economic ripples are becoming very real, very fast. As I watch the  […]

The news from the BBC is a sobering reminder of how quickly the global economy can find itself on a knife's edge. Hearing that experts are now flagging a "worst-case" prediction of $200 per barrel for crude oil feels less like a market forecast and more like a warning siren. I’ve been  […]

The Quiet Before the Turn: A Palm Sunday Reflection

Today is Palm Sunday, and as I sit with its meaning, I feel it less as a historical commemoration and more as a living archetype—something unfolding not only in ancient Jerusalem, but within consciousness itself. Traditionally, this day marks the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, greeted by  […]
