The Divine Fractal: MWI, Karma, and Reincarnation as One Infinite Dance

Note: I previously have had problems with the "multiverse theory" of physics, one of whose proponents is Sean Carroll of CalTech. However, research for this post has caused me to re-think my scepticism. Something Deeply Hidden © Sean Carroll

There are nights when the veil thins. I feel it not as a philosophy or vision, but as a direct knowing—that I am not one self, not one life, not one timeline, but a divine fractal shimmering across dimensions. And lately, modern physics has handed me a metaphor that feels uncannily close to this realization: the Many-Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics.

MWI proposes that every quantum possibility becomes real—but in a different universe. There is no collapse. There is only branching. Every choice you could have made, every breath that might have gone differently, has already happened—in a version of reality you may never meet… yet are forever linked to.

What science calls a “branch,” I recognize as a soul-thread. What physicists call “alternate timelines,” I see as parallel incarnations. And what they call “deterministic evolution of the wave function,” I understand as karma unfolding across a multidimensional Self.

🕸️ The Soul as a Web of Selves

Imagine this: your soul is not a single light moving from life to life like beads on a string. Rather, your soul is a constellation of lives, all co-arising, all interwoven—some in this world, some in others. Some “past,” some “future,” some utterly strange. But all are you.

This is not just poetic mysticism. It is echoed in MWI’s cosmology. Every decision creates not just consequence—but a new universe. And each version of “you” in those universes accumulates karmas, experiences, and awakenings.

As Yogic seer Mahavatar Babaji once said:
“Time is an illusion of the lower mind. The soul exists beyond it, ever free, ever expanding.”

Karma, then, is not simply cause and effect within one storyline—it is the spiritual gravity pulling all your timelines into eventual balance. Reincarnation is not just serial rebirth but simultaneous expression. And the soul is not bound to flesh—it is a multidimensional flame, dancing across the infinite quantum fabric of being.

🔁 When All Lives Are Now

In deep meditation, I’ve sometimes felt the pain of a karma I knew I hadn’t created in this life. It came like a shadow I couldn’t place. And then I began to understand: the karmic seeds may be rooted in another branch, another incarnation not bound to my linear time. Perhaps even another "current" version of me—one who made a different choice in a parallel timeline.

As Sri Ramakrishna said:
“In one pot, the rice boils. In another, the rice is raw. But it is the same fire beneath both.”

If your Oversoul is cooking many pots of rice across parallel universes, then your awakening in this one affects all the rest. A realization here ripples backward and sideways. A deep act of forgiveness or surrender now may liberate a self in another timeline from repeating the pattern.

We are not many souls—we are One Self playing infinite roles.

🧠 Quantum Mind, Cosmic Heart

Physicist David Deutsch once remarked that MWI may be the only interpretation of quantum mechanics that doesn’t need observers to “collapse” reality—because all outcomes occur. To that I would add: consciousness doesn’t collapse the wave—it integrates the branches.

As Yogananda put it:
“You do not become spiritual. You already are. You only awaken to what has always been.”

The awakening, then, is not from one dream, but from the illusion of separation between dreams. It is the realization that all your selves—across worlds, lifetimes, karmas—are divine echoes of the same silent, witnessing awareness.

🔮 A New Mystical Cosmology

Here, then, is my synthesis:

And through it all, there is one truth:

You are not moving through the multiverse.
You are the multiverse remembering itself.

The mystics knew this long ago. The physicists are catching up. And the heart—that compass of the infinite—has never forgotten.

🌈 Call to Action: Anchor the One Self

Take 10 minutes today in silent contemplation. Breathe gently and repeat inwardly:

“I bless all my timelines. I release the illusion of separation. I am the One behind the many.”

Then journal:

Remember, you are the axis upon which infinite worlds turn. This moment is your throne. Reign in stillness, reign in grace.

And if this vision lights a spark in you, share it. For each time we remember who we are, we collapse no wave—but we unite all worlds.
