I heard the breath of the Upanishads, and I saw the quiet smile of Babaji, beyond time, watching us rediscover the truth.
For most of my life, I have walked between worlds — not just science and spirit, but logic and mysticism, thought and silence. I’ve never believed that we are just biological machines. My soul has always rebelled against that bleak narrative. I’ve felt — and sometimes known — that we are not separate from the cosmos, but that the cosmos breathes through us, dreams through us. Planck, the father of quantum theory, agrees.
Mainstream science teaches us to see reality as external, solid, objective — a grand machine humming independently of our awareness. In that story, consciousness is an accident, a chemical glitch in a biological brain. But Planck turned the telescope around and dared to say the unthinkable: matter comes from consciousness, not the other way around.
That single reversal, so simple and yet so cosmic, changes everything. It means the stars in the sky, the atoms in our bones, the gentle wave of breath through our bodies — all of it arises from a deeper, unseen matrix. And that matrix is not cold or random. It is conscious. Aware. Alive.

Planck, though rooted in physics, was dancing close to mysticism here. He saw what sages have always seen in meditation: that the universe is not a machine, but a mind.

This mirrors what Adi Shankara
described in the ancient doctrine of Brahman
— the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality that is the

God, Self, and the world."
Planck’s universal mind isn’t “God” in the traditional sense. It’s closer to the Tao, the Ain Soph, the silent stillness behind all motion. Your thoughts, your body, your very sense of self — these are ripples on its oceanic surface.
We seem separate, but in truth, we are the One, dreaming itself into multiplicity.
This is where my spiritual path fuses with my love for science. The modern mystics in lab coats — like Planck, Schrödinger, and Bohm — are not far from the ancient mystics in robes. They speak in different tongues, but they point toward the same horizon.
When Planck says matter is born of consciousness, he’s expressing what yogis have known for centuries. What we call the world is a projection — a symbolic display of deeper reality. Just as in lucid dreams, where entire worlds can unfold within a moment of mind, so too may this waking reality be a projection of a greater intelligence.
This changes everything. You are not a meaningless speck in a lifeless void. You are an aperture through which the cosmos experiences itself. Your thoughts are not noise; they are sacred tremors. Your love is not a chemical glitch; it is the vibration of the Infinite touching itself through you.
As Sri Ramakrishna said:
"Do you know what I see? I see
that God is walking in every human form and manifesting Himself through
every action."
Planck’s vision gives science a soul. It invites reverence into reason. It heals the false divide between outer discovery and inner awakening.
“Reality exists because it is perceived,” Planck said.
To me, this doesn’t deny science — it fulfills it. Science, stripped of soul, is incomplete. And mysticism, when untethered from reason, can drift into fantasy. But when they come together, as they do here, something miraculous happens: the universe wakes up in us.
